  1. MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF THIS DISK, BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE WRITE PROTECT TAB.
  2. If you are upgrading from a previous version of LAN-LINK, the 2.00 SYS files
  3. are NOT compatible with earlier ones. Copy ALL your current LAN-LINK files to
  4. a floppy disk and run the SETUPLL.BAT file on this disk as instructed below.
  5. Place the floppy disk in Drive A: Type 'A:' (without the '') followed by the
  6. 'Enter' key so that you see the A:> prompt. The floppy disk contains a batch
  7. file which will set up the correct subdirectories on your hard disk. Type
  8. 'SETUPLL', touch the 'Enter' key, and the batch file will go to work.
  9. The Install program customizes the most often used parameters for you. Section
  10. 18 of Appendix 2 describes each of the parameters. Read it as you install LAN-
  11. LINK. Install first asks you for the TNC you are using, reply with the number
  12. associated with your TNC. If you don't find your TNC listed, try the TNC2
  13. option.
  14.        If you have not already connected to your local BBS, skip the following
  15. parameters, and re-run install at some later time when you know which answers
  16. to reply with.

  18. BBS Mail Trigger: Text in the mail beacon from your local BBS.
  19. Read Request:     Command you send to the BBS to read a message.
  20. Bulletin Read Request: Command you send to the BBS to read a bulletin.
  21. BBS Subject String: BBS prompt for the subject of a message you are sending.
  22. BBS Message String: BBS prompt for the text of a message you are sending.

  24. When you have completed the installation sequence, copy your old logbook files
  25. (HF.DBF and VHF.DBF) from the back-up floppy disk into the LAN-LINK directory.
